Dr. Robert Mines, DDS

It is in deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Robert Edward Mines III. A brilliant, oral surgeon educated through HBCUs, Morehouse College, Clark University and Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN, where he obtained his medical degree, specializing in dentistry.

Robert’s exceptional talent and dedication led him to the bustling streets of New York City, where he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harlem Hospital. He practiced and honed his skills for over three decades in his beloved adopted hometown. Patients from all walks of life sought his expertise, entrusting their health and well-being to his care.

Born in Detroit, Michigan yet hailing proudly from Oakland, CA, Dr. Mines was a philanthropist of joy! He shared daily his encompassing light and quick, irreverent sense of humor to whomever would listen. Robert Edward Mines was honored to be a father, a second generation healer in the medical field, a dedicated son and brother, uncle, and loyal friend.

Dr. Mines' irresistible zeal for life and love of humanity continues to inspire and hold those that miss him. He leaves a legacy as a skilled practitioner, world traveler, and an indomitable spirit to guide future generations.
